Such is the importance of the construction industry to both the sub-region and the wider West Midlands region that Building Technologies has been identified as one of the main cluster groups by Advantage West Midlands (AWM) and Coventry and Warwickshire is the lead Learning and Skills Council (LSC) for the cluster within the West Midlands, working closely with FORCE, the West Midlands Construction Forum, and the Construction Industries Training Board (CITB).

Within the sub-region, North Warwickshire and Hinckley College leads a Construction CoVE in partnership with Warwickshire College. City College Coventry also provides FE Construction courses while undergraduate courses are available at Coventry University. Meanwhile the Coventry-Warwickshire Construction Training Partnership Group, which includes 43 Colleges and University together with private training providers, informs regional strategy and seeks to respond to employer demand.

A further organisation that is currently being developed is Advanced Construction Technologies-UK, which will be based at Coventry University and will bring together employers and education and training providers. The flagship of this organisation will be a state-of-the-art Construction Management Simulation Centre which will be unique to the UK and provide an intensive learning environment for all professions involved in construction site management, offering high quality craft training, technical and professional education and training, management and supervisory development and Continuous Professional Development at all levels.
